My name is Duncan Huaffe, I work as a fulltime Local Area Network Administrator and on my off-hours, a website developer, database and IT support specialist. I have more than five years of professional work experience - two years and counting, in the IT field. My off-hours for the since 2013 are a full time IT consultant and more recently, a father in 2020.

I have completed my Bachelor of Information Systems in Divine Word University - an institution known to uphold Christian ethics as a compulsory part of studies. Provide technical support as part of the IT Team, the Local Area Network Administrator (LANA) provides consistent, high quality and effective ICT support to the Australian high Commission. Administer ICT systems (hardware, software, security systems and standalone equipment) and provides training to staff, assistance with asset stocktakes and audits, and undertakes IT related project management.

Website Developer - Tourism Industry Association

Provide technical assistance and advice to re-design PNGTIA’s official website. This project requires the ability to work under limited supervision and to meet deadlines set by stakeholders.
Organize meetings with stakeholders to discuss recommendations and provide feedback on the progress of the project. Demonstrate ability to be flexible to research and learn new technology applicable to meet client needs. In this case, learning a new template engine (Twig) for PHP and the use of Craft CMS for the back end.

IT Contractor (Freelance) - Western Pacific Lawyers
February 2017 - March 2017
Provide technical and professional advice to a small office network setup together with domain services, printing, file services, and upgrade workstations and software updates. An intranet test site was also set up for future developments. This project requires the ability to plan, design, and set up a small office network, install and configure domain name services on a physical server, configure devices on the network to share and manage files, upgrade all existing devices with new operating systems, anti-virus, and office software. Ability to document all tasks involved in the project including step-by-step guides to ensure future developments and maintenance can be carried out with ease.
IT Consultant - Soi & Associates Lawyers
November 2016 - December 2016
For three weeks after school, I was engaged with Soi & Associate Lawyers
to design and implement a small office network setup.
The project involved the upgrading of existing computer hardware and software. Designing and implementing a new local area network for the office with domain services. The network consists of workstations, a server, and a wifi/router for internet service from ISP (Telikom ADSL).
The project was a success and staff can now log into
their own domain and access the internet.

November 2015 - January 2016
As a required assessment task, I was able to join this wonderful graphic design company to design and deploy the official company website. I utilized my project management, organizational skills to design, develop and maintain the site.
I used Joomla! for this site but customized the template using HTML, CSS, js, and XML to obtain the required interface.
The site was published in December 2015 and throughout early 2016 using the domain www.designedge.com.pg (the site is currently offline but the design sneak peek can be found on http://duffe16.wixsite.com/design-edge-png)
